Why ReviewLoop never hides the review button

· 1 min read · By PS Automation Hub

"Review gating" is the practice of asking customers how they felt and then sending only the happy ones to Google, while unhappy ones are diverted somewhere private. It can make a rating look better. It also makes the rating less honest.

ReviewLoop deliberately doesn't do this.

What ReviewLoop does instead

When a customer rates their visit 1–3 stars, ReviewLoop shows an empathetic prompt and captures their feedback privately. That gives the business a real chance to understand and fix the problem.

But the Google review button stays visible. The customer can still post a public review if they want to. Their rating never decides whether they are allowed to.

Why this is the right trade

  • It respects the customer. People should be able to say what they think, publicly, if they choose.
  • It keeps reviews meaningful. A rating built from a filtered sample tells future customers less.
  • Private feedback is still valuable. Many unhappy customers would rather be heard by the business first. Offering that path, without forcing it, helps both sides.

Nothing auto-posts either

The same principle applies to drafts. ReviewLoop's AI-assisted or template draft is a starting point the customer edits and submits themselves on Google. It never posts anything for them.
